Yan Ross, ICFE Director of Special Projects, to Teach New Course on Identity Theft: Challenge and Response for Consumers

July 19, 2016 - Yavapai College, Prescott, AZ announces a new Community Education course by Yan Ross, Director of Special Projects of the Institute of Consumer Financial Education. The course title is "Identity Theft: Challenge and Response for Consumers"

The course will be presented in three 2-hour sessions, over three successive Mondays in October. Participation will strengthen the consumer's understanding of the identity theft phenomenon, the risks of falling victim to identity thieves, and risk management techniques to avoid the adverse effects of identity theft.

The textbook for the course is the Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist® XV (CITRMS®) independent study guide, now published as a Textbook and Desk Reference on Amazon and the Amazon affiliate CreateSpace.

This is the same material Mr. Ross wrote for the Institute of Consumer Financial Education (ICFE) for the CITRMS® XV course, but priced at a deep discount for this program.

Please note at this time the course is only being offered in a live classroom setting in Prescott, AZ. However, we are hopeful we may be able to expand the delivery platform to include both live-and-interactive and recorded sessions via the internet to other locations, both on and off campus. The logistical support systems are available, and we are seeking feedback on the broader demand for this course.

At this time, ICFE is seeking your comments and suggestions on the potential interest you and your organization may have in participating in a program to make both the textbook and the course available to you and your members/clients. We are able to customize courses to address both the general consumer market and more specific interests, such as small and large businesses and those with particular needs, such as financial institutions and health care providers.

Based on your responses, we will evaluate the most efficient means of tailoring and delivering the educational program that can make a positive impact on those who need it most.

Please direct your comments to ICFE.

The ICFE's Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist ® XV CITRMS® course is now available both in printed format and online.

The Textbook and Desk Reference edition of the course book is also available online. Bulk pricing and discounts for veterans and students available. Inquire at yan.ross@icfe.info
