ICFE eNEWS #12-18 - August 28th 2012

Please join the Military Families Learning Network for the web conference:
"Income Tax Return Filing Issues for Members of the Armed Forces"
Tuesday, August 28, 12:30-2 p.m. ET

This 90-minute presentation by Guido van der Hoeven will introduce participants to income tax rules for members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Service persons, their professional advisers, and Extension Agents will benefit from examples that illustrate the application of income tax rules to the circumstances of the service person. An opportunity to ask questions will be provided via a chat box.

1.5 CEUs will be available for AFC-credentialed participants from AFCPE.

Presenter Guido van der Hoeven is an Extension Specialist/Senior Lecturer, for the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Guido's extension responsibilities include: income taxation of individuals and business entities, machinery economics, and farm business management and the profitable continuation of "family firms" to succeeding generations. Recent focus has been on gaining an understanding of global implications of a shrinking agricultural production world but a growing world of product demand.

In addition to Personal Financial Management Program Managers, we encourage Extension and other educators to participate. A significant component of the military, the Guard and Reserve components of the Armed Forces, are our neighbors residing in communities across the nation and may access Extension as a resource. Please take a few minutes in advance of the conference to ready your computer.
