New CFPB Interactive Online Tool: Ask CFPB

FROM: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Ask CFPB, a new interactive online tool that will help consumers find answers to their basic financial questions, was launched recently.

Consumers often can't easily sift through all the information out there to find unbiased answers to their questions about financial products and services. We want to help them find information they can trust, so they can make better informed decisions.

Ask CFPB lets consumers find answers by searching, or by navigating by category, like "Credit Card" or "Mortgage," or topic, like "fees" or "closing." We also have content especially for populations such as servicemembers, students, and older Americans.

One of the features is the opportunity to gather feedback from consumers. Users can rate an Ask CFPB answer "Helpful," "Too long," "Confusing," or "Incorrect." They can also submit a question for consideration to be included on Ask CFPB. The CFPB will be able to manage users' feedback and question submissions to improve the information we provide to consumers.

Right now, the answers are focused mostly on credit cards and mortgages.
